What is the difference between a Senior Nursery Nurse and a Room Leader?

Question

Q – “What is the difference between a Senior Nursery Nurse and a Room Leader please? What are their responsibilities? Job description etc,,”

Answers

A – “Depends on the setting. The first nursery I worked in was very big (120+ children) and each room had a senior and a room leader. The senior nursery nurse was in effect a deputy room leader and was expected to support the room leader and also step up in their absence. However I have since worked in several nurseries in the same chain and they all had room leaders but not seniors. I went on to become a room leader and I was additionally third in charge so I was running a baby room as well as being part of the management team.”

A – “They support room leader in my setting but not the same role, the room leader is still the Same NN line manager. As room leaders we are all treated as part of and supporting the management team”

A – “In my experience as an assessor going into a variety of settings they are the same thing . A senior Is the leader in a room”

A – “A senior is 3rd in charge after the manager and deputy”

A – “Same role”

A “Depends on setting”
