Survey to help get a fair deal for funding

Calling all nurseries to complete a survey that will help campaign for a fair deal for funding

National Day Nurseries Association is asking all childcare settings to complete their annual survey. The survey will be used to collect nurseries views on the funding for the increased hours; these views will be given to Government as part of a campaign to get better funding for the free childcare places.

According to last year’s survey, it demonstrated that childcare settings were concerned on how they were going to deliver these extended hours on low funding All these views brought attention from many people.

NDNA are asking all providers whether they are members or not to give their views. These views and evidence will be used to help get a better deal for funding, allowing nurseries to provide high-quality care and education sustainably.

Figures released from last year’s survey highlighted that 45 per cent of childcare settings in England would offer the 30 hours free childcare hours. Half of Scotland nurseries who responded said they were unlikely to provide the increase, the reason being the shortfall in funding.
