Managers should conduct one to one meetings with their employees regularly, these are to review progress and set new objectives for the future. One to one meetings are a chance for both manager and employee to communicate openly and evaluate performance.

Here are some tips to use for the preparation, planning and running of a meeting.

1.Have regular one to one meetings.

Regular meetings will enable employees to raise issues related, this will allow managers to deal with issues sooner rather than later.

2 Conduct meetings in a neutral space.

Having a meeting with the manager can be daunting and can often be intimidating. By conducting the meeting in a more relaxed environment can help ease employees anxieties, enabling employees to communicate more openly.

3.Review short-term goals and objectives.

Talk to your employees about their progress and their performance. Give them time to reflect on their performance. Give feedback where necessary and give praise on areas that have worked well . Discuss new objectives for the employee to meet, this will lay out what is expected of the employee.

4.Set time in meeting for employee to talk.

This time is valuable to employees as they need time to discuss issues that are frustrating them. Employees will look to managers for the support to resolve these issues.
