World Autism Awareness Week

Did you join in World Autism Awareness week?

World Autism Awareness Week took place on the 26th March 2018 and ran until 2nd April 2018. Nearly seven hundred thousand people are on the Autism Spectrum in the United Kingdom.

Autism is a lifelong developmental disability affecting communication interest’s behaviour and social interaction and how the child experiences the world around them. In children, Autism Spectrum Disorder first presents itself before three years of age but a diagnosis is often made sometime after.

Speech and language therapy, occupational therapy and educational support are just a few of the support network available.

There are also a large amount interventions and strategies nurseries are able to apply to help and support those and their families who are affected.

Every experience of autism is unique and during World Autism Awareness week nurseries schools workplaces and individuals can help to raise awareness and money for the National Autistic Awareness Society.

The money will help to fund campaigns share training with professionals sharing knowledge and experiences plus much more.

Some participants enjoyed takings part in an annual night walk or 7k run or 700k run for the more athletic.

Autism awareness week was sponsored by Playmobil. Playmobil has been a firm favourite with families for many years.

They offer a diverse range of toys and there are around thirty different play worlds for children to enjoy. With historical and modern play themes there is no limit to where their toys can take the child imagination.
