National Children’s Food Festival Week 2016

The National Children’s Food Festival is an annual celebration that teaches children about many different things including where food comes from, how food is grown and prepared. Over the course of this week practitioners are encouraged to plan activities around food to build on the children’s experiences. There are a range of activities that you can plan to celebrate Food Festival week including;

Each year the National Children’s Food Festival is based around a particular theme, with this year it will be storytelling! We have also created 4 story packs that can be used to promote and support you in celebrating Food Festival week with us. There is also a National Food Festival competition to take part in. Last year the competition was bread making however this year we have decided to stay with the story theme and will be holding a “story prop challenge”, encouraging settings to hold the competition to see who can create the best story prop.
