Question

Q – “I am currently doing my BA Hons in Early Childhood Studies Degree. I am due to finish mid April…I just wanted to know what sort of careers I can pursue as I have no idea what I would like to do. I went in with the intention of becoming a teacher but I have now changed my mind.”

Answers

A – “Is this something you have considered?

A – “I am studying my BA Childhood Studies (I don’t plan on doing honours) originally I had wanted yo do primary teaching but found a passion for early years while I was learning. There are several things you can go on to do, playwork, you can do a social work degree similar to post grad teaching, early years practitioner, community practitioner. Personally I’m most looking forward to no more essays!”

A – “I did a Primary teaching degree and decided about 3/4 of the way through that teaching wasn’t for me. I went into a nursery and worked there for 3 years, before feeling that the paperwork was too much and I was no longer spending as much time with the children, which was the whole point of me choosing the career in the first place! I now work as a private nanny and I love it! Much more focus on the children, no paperwork (the family weren’t worried about ofsted registration) and much more relaxed in terms of routine etc”

A – “I did this and now I’m in a school nursery as a two year old lead. it’s fantastic just like being a teacher I plan, do reports, do the children’s books, parents evenings and in charge of the room! “

A – “I did my first degree in Early Childhood Studies and I am now studying a postgraduate diploma in children’s nursing, my original intention was either teaching or nursing and I’ve definitely chosen the right job for me! I love it”

A – “I studied BA Hons Education studies joint with Working with Children, Young people and Families and wanted to be a teacher! After three years of that I completely changed my mind. I am now a deputy manager of a private nursery and look after the education aspect. But the options are endless! Start somewhere you have an interest and just build from there”

A – “I did my BA Hons in early childhood studies , I now work as a family support worker with 0-5 year olds, I also get to run sessions such as stay and plays , as well as more targeted groups . I love my job and wouldn’t change it at all !”

A – “I completed level 5 of my echs ba hons but not the last year so only got the diploma what could I do please it’s been 9 years since I finished and am looking to start my career”

A – “Hey!
